Lindsay Clancy-stans back wild conspiracy theory that husband Patrick is real killer of their 3 young children

Patrick Clancy’s family and friends are pushing back against an online targeting campaign against him as his ex-wife, Lindsay Clancy, stands trial for the deaths of their three children Lindsay, 36, is accused of killing five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan inside the family’s Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Prosecutors allege she strangled the children with exercise bands before attempting to take her own life.

She has pleaded not criminally responsible, arguing that she was suffering from severe postpartum psychosis and had been dangerously overmedicated. Patrick, 39, has not been accused of any wrongdoing by prosecutors. He testified during the trial and became emotional while recounting events surrounding the deaths.

Online scrutiny of Patrick has intensified, with some accusing him of failing to recognize the seriousness of Lindsay’s mental health condition. Others have made unsupported claims that he was responsible or involved in the killings. A relative of Patrick’s, speaking anonymously. to the Daily Mail, said the allegations have been deeply upsetting: "The things that are going around right now are heinous. It has been really upsetting and damaging," the anonymous party said.

The family member continued: "Pat has always been the nicest, most supportive person ever. He loved his family, he loved his wife, and he did everything he could to support her, and this is just a really sad story."

Patrick later moved from the Boston suburbs to Manhattan in May 2023. He married Dr. Rachel Danis, a fertility doctor, in April this year. Danis has also faced online harassment, including death threats and the publication of personal information. A colleague of Danis said, "It's been tough. She's hanging in there." A friend of Patrick’s said the online attacks have become increasingly intense during the trial. "The internet mobs are going nuts," the friend said. "These people are insane. It's awful because Pat has been through enough already."

Another friend defended Patrick’s actions before the killings, saying: "He had three kids, was working his ass off. She [Lindsay] was tired. She was up at night. He obviously didn't realize how bad it was. And that's something he's got to live with for the rest of his life. But it's called 20/20 hindsight."

Patrick has since focused on faith, charity work and running. In 2024, he founded the Heard Foundation in memory of his children, with a focus on improving care for mood disorders associated with childbirth.

The jury must determine whether Lindsay was legally insane when the killings occurred. A first-degree murder conviction carries mandatory life imprisonment without parole, while an insanity finding could result in indefinite commitment to a state psychiatric hospital.
