DSA pledged to "break the gears of the US imperial war machine that enables Israel."
The statement, titled "Until Palestinian Liberation," claimed, "A conditional ceasefire agreement does not wash the hands of the ruling class that touted their legal obligation to intervene and instead, continued to fuel and arm genocide while stoking regional war."
“DSA harbors no illusions that Israel will honor any negotiated agreement that preserves Palestinian life or self-determination,” the socialist organization went on to add.
DSA went on to claim that Israel has only "continued military action with impunity" after past ceasefires and said that Israel is currently terrorizing "the people of Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Qatar, and Iran while wielding the implicit threat of nuclear engagement to violently impose its fascist, expansionist aspirations."
The socialists then called for the "full freedoms and self determination of the Palestinian people" and said that Israel continues its "colonization and occupation" of Arab lands. DSA then alleged the US is complicit in "genocide and apartheid," and pledged to “break the gears of the US imperial war machine that enables Israel."
The statement also called the Hamas terrorist group the "Palestinian resistance" in the very first line, which "announced that a ceasefire agreement has been reached." Multiple times throughout the statement, DSA called on their "comrades" to "resist" so-called "occupation" and "oppression.”
Mamdani, like DSA, claimed that there are “occupation and apartheid” being conducted by Israel on Monday when he issued his own statement. “We must work towards a future built upon justice, one without occupation and apartheid, and for a world where every person can live with safety and dignity.”
Mamdani has been a member of DSA, and a leader in the socialist organization has said that Mamdani is poised to “seize state power” for the party of socialists.
