Police in Sherbrooke, Quebec, are looking for a man who allegedly assaulted a nurse after accusing her of giving his wife the vaccine without his consent. According to CBC, the attack allegedly happened on Monday morning, at the Brunet pharmacy located near the corner of 12th Avenue North and du 24-Juin Street.
"[Once there], the man quickly accuses the nurse of vaccinating his wife without [his] consent and then hits her several times to the face," said Martin Carrier, a spokesperson for Sherbrooke police.
Police say the man is between 30 and 45 years old, is six feet tall and has a medium build. He also has short dark hair, dark eyes and large eyebrows. Police also note he had a tattoo on his hand resembling a cross.
COVID-19 vaccinations have been suspended at the pharmacy until further notice. The pharmacy owner declined to be interviewed but noted the pharmacy was vaccinating around 15 people a day, on average.
Quebec's order of nurses released a statement condemning the attack, calling it unacceptable and wishing for the full recovery of the injured nurse.
Police do not have any images or videos of the suspect. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call police at 1-800-771-1800.
