Jordende Pierre, 29, was hit with charges of trafficking a person for sexual servitude, kidnapping, battery, and other charges after the landlord of the property found the woman in the attic of the home where she was discovered naked, malnourished, and laying on a mat with a bucket to use as a toilet.
Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney Jacob McCrindle said in court, “She clearly had not eaten. She was dirty. She was living, essentially, in squalor in this attic area,” according to NBC Boston. Prosecutors said that Pierre came in contact with the victim on a dating app and then took her to the home in Malden before she was found 6 weeks later. She had allegedly been given drugs in the home as well. Attorneys said that Pierre would sexually assault her and then arrange for other men to rape her on the property.
“The defendant would arrange for those dates,” McCrindle said. They also described how Pierre would allegedly prevent her from leaving the home. “The door handle in this attic area, it could be removed, and the defendant would remove that door handle so that she could not leave,” the attorney said.
The landlord had gone to the home because there was a water leak and the tenants had prevented her and her husband from accessing certain rooms in the house. They were eventually able to get to the attic where they found the girl and then called 911.
Landlord Qing Sun told authorities that Pierre was not one of the tenants in the home and added, “It’s a disturbing situation." Pierre was arrested on Thursday during a coordinated operation with the Malden Police, FBI, and US Marshals.
"I’m very happy to be able to help this young girl get back to her family,” Sun said. A neighbor said that they have had suspicions about the home before, calling it "Frankenstein's home."
“We’ve heard rumors about that house in the past,” neighbor Tarra Sewell told reporters. “I would never, ever imagine something happening so close to my home."
