Andrew, Tristan Tate arrested on rape, sex trafficking charges in Miami, Florida

US Marshals arrested Andrew and Tristan Tate in Florida on Saturday in connection with rape and sex trafficking charges filed in the UK. Officers detained the brothers outside Miami's James L. Knight Center just before Andrew was scheduled to headline a boxing card at the arena.

Both men have dual British and American citizenship and have been dealing with legal problems for years related to sex crime charges. The latest arrest is in connection with a slew of new sex crime charges filed by UK authorities. British authorities are pursuing their extradition.

Andrew, 39, now faces seven additional rape counts on top of charges already pending against him, after four more alleged victims came forward, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.

The statement added that he was charged with "three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and 19 additional charges for offences relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography,” per the New York Post.

Tristan, 38, has been charged with one count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. Prosecutors have alleged that the offenses happened between July 2010 and August 2017.

Malcolm McHaffie, who heads the Special Crime Division at the Crown Prosecution Service, said, "These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven."

Footage of the arrest surfaced via TMZ, where Andrew and Tristan were seen getting taken into custody by authorities.

In 2025, Andrew was hit with 10 other charges of rape, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain in the UK in connection with three women. Tristan was charged with 11 counts of rape, actual bodily harm, as well as human trafficking in connection to one woman. Both have denied any wrongdoing.

Separately, Andrew's former girlfriend Lauren Southern claimed in her memoir, "This is not Real Life," that he raped her and choked her until she lost consciousness. Southern said the incident took place in 2018 during a visit to see the Tates in Bucharest, when she was 22. She described falling ill at a nightclub, after which Andrew allegedly picked her up, put her in a car, and brought her to a hotel where he allegedly assaulted her. She wrote, "I was extraordinarily tired. He wanted to go further. I said no, very clearly, multiple times, and tried to pull his hands off me… [Tate then] put his arm around my neck and began strangling me unconscious."
