Man who tried to assassinate Justice Kavanaugh now identifies as transgender

In 2022, a man showed up at Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh's house planning to kill him. That man was arrested, charged, and convicted and the DOJ is asking the judge to sentence him to 30 years in prison for the offence after defendant Nicholas Roske, 29, pled guilty in April. Now he identifies as transgender.

Roske has decided while in prison that he is transgender and changed his name, per court documents reviewed by The Daily Wire. He now goes by Sophie Roske and "legal team will refer to him using female pronouns." The legal team is using the new name and female pronouns "out of respect" for the man who attempted to kill a Supreme Court justice.

"The case is captioned as United States v. Nicholas John Roske," attorneys said, noting that Roske has not asked the case to be renamed for the new name. "Out of respect for Ms. Roske," the lawyers state, "the balance of this pleading and counsel’s in-court argument will refer to her as Sophie and use female pronouns."

Roske had been using female pronouns online prior to attempting to kill Kavanaugh. Attorney General Pam Bondi calls Roske a "disturbed individual." The case is one of many incidents of political violence in recent years and is yet another in a string of crimes carried out by trans individuals. A trans-identified male murdered two school children at a Catholic school in Minneapolis earlier in September, injuring 17 others. In 2023, a trans-identified female massacred six people at a Nashville Christian school.

The DOJ's seeking of a 30-year prison term is due to their assertion that the sentence must be harsh enough to "reflect the harm sought to be inflicted on the judiciary" and to make clear that the "consequences for these acts — no fewer than 30 years to life in prison — are not worth the perceived ideological ends."

In July 2024, a man attempted to kill President Donald Trump as he was on the campaign trail seeking re-election. On September 10, conservative leader Charlie Kirk was murdered while he spoke to students at Utah Valley University. The suspect is a leftist who has a trans boyfriend.
