Mark Levin trashes Trump Middle East peace plans

President Donald Trump has made a Middle East peace plan an essential part of his second term, just as it was during the first when he attained the landmark Abraham Accords. Under Joe Biden, that peace was shattered into bits, and while Trump is again back at the negotiating table to remake what was so brutally destroyed, Mark Levin has taken the opportunity to go after the one man who has proven himself capable of bringing stability to the region.

"I'm a fan of Levin," said a long-time adviser to President Trump to The Post Millennial, "but it's been disappointing to watch him publicly attack the president and his policies whenever he doesn't get 100% of what he wants from him.

"Donald Trump singlehandedly saved Israel and Levin has the gall to spend the last week attacking the President over Qatar?" The adviser went on. "It’s just wrong. Sometimes, it makes you wonder if Levin really supports him or is just using him for his own purposes."

Trump issued an executive order offering a commitment to Qatari sovereignty, saying that the two nations "have been bound together by close cooperation, shared interests, and the close relationship between our armed forces." As such, Trump offered that "The United States shall regard any armed attack on the territory, sovereignty, or critical infrastructure of the State of Qatar as a threat to the peace and security of the United States."

This comes after American ally Israel apologized for having bombed Qatar in an effort to kill Hamas leaders who reside in that country, far from the constituency they affect to rule in Gaza.

The order also preceded the massive peace plan put together by the administration. This comprehensive peace deal is touted by the administration as "the most realistic solution to a problem that has plagued the region for far too long." And it will need the backing of key partners in the region if it is to be successful.

Levin thought that Israel should not have apologized and also backed their decision to strike Qatar, saying just one day after the attack that "ISRAEL WAS RIGHT & QATAR MUST SURRENDER HAMAS’S KINGPINS IMMEDIATELY

"You’ve every right to defend your country, Mr. Ambassador, and kill the Hamas leadership wherever they are, and be proud about it. I personally am thrilled you targeted Hamas’s leaders.

"Qatar is harboring them like an international terrorist cartel. We Americans wouldn’t tolerate this bullsh*t for a second. And we, the American people, don’t like Qatar, either. For scores of very important reasons, including 9/11 and their billions destroying our schools."

Levin found Trump's executive order to be unconscionable, blasting "Our new protectorate, Qatar."

"If the leadership of Hamas in Qatar is killed by Israel, are we going to war with Israel? Wouldn’t it have been better to condition any military defense of Qatar on some basic requirements? For example: turnover the Hamas leaders; no more funding of terrorists worldwide; no more funding of Marxist-Islamist groups in the United States. This is the bare minimum," he continued."

Levin went further, saying "The executive order declaring a massive war-footing military commitment by our country to protecting terror state Qatar is not binding on any future administration. It is neither a treaty nor a congressional act."

The order read that in the event of an attack on Qatar, "the United States shall take all lawful and appropriate measures — including diplomatic, economic, and, if necessary, military — to defend the interests of the United States and of the State of Qatar and to restore peace and stability."

Levin also demanded that Qatar apologize to the families of those massacred by terrorists on 9/11, the October 7 families, and "those slaughtered by its funding of Islamic terrorism."

The largest military base for the US in the Middle East is located in Qatar, the Al Udeid Air Base, which is shared also with the United Kingdom, among others. Qatar has also been a key negotiation partner in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

For Levin, however, asking Israel to apologize for having bombed Qatar in search of Hamas leaders was not appropriate, though it kept diplomatic relations amicable between all three nations. And he accused Steve Witkoff of leaking the apology, calling it "comical."

In September, Levin backed comments made by House Speaker Mike Johnson, who said that the West Bank belonged to Israel. Trump has opposed that annexation, instead attempting to broker a peace that would secure a future for both Israel and the Palestinians.

Going back to the spring of 2025, Levin blasted the president for accepting a Qatari Boeing to be retrofitted to become the White House's Air Force One. The plan, which had been underway long before Trump began his second term, was criticized by Levin, who claimed Qatar is "a terrorist state."

Levin also called for tariffs to be put into place on Qatar, saying, "If it’s good enough for our allies, it’s good enough for these Arab countries."

Trump has been fighting to protect Israel's right to exist, ensure the release of Hamas-held hostages, and bring about a peace in the Middle East that was squandered by the Biden administration after Trump's first term efforts.

Is this writer somehow not aware that the Palestinian leadership was in Qatar for the purpose of negotiating a peace deal with Israel? Murdering diplomats is not a strategy that will bring peace; it is a strategy to assure there cannot be peace. Palestinian diplomats met in good faith, which was destroyed by the US & Israel. This attack on diplomats only reaffirmed the message to countries around the world that the US does not negotiate in good faith, uses peace negotiations to target diplomats, & cannot be trusted. Hamas is not going to agree to any plan that denies full sovereignty to Palestine, including their right to defend their territory. No state would agree to that. The largest US military base in the Middle East is in Qatar; that attack was not possible without the US knowing & allowing it. Trump is not opposed to Israel stealing Palestinian land. Levin's job is simply to push conservatives toward supporting war because it is their children who will volunteer to fight & die in that war. Netanyahu explicitly stated in his UN speech to an empty UN chamber he will not accept a Palestinian state.
