New York Mayor Eric Adams says he will fight to ensure there are no limitations on abortion until the moment a baby is born.
When asked at the "Bans Off Our Bodies" demonstration in New York City whether he thinks there should be any limitations on abortion, Adams said "No, I do not."
The new mayor further condemned the pro-life movement as "radical."
"Abortion is health care," Adams tweeted. "It’s that simple. And New York City won’t let a group of radical extremists take away health care or any human right without a fight."
In another tweet later on Saturday, Adams said "We will not allow the nation to move backwards. We are the majority: The majority of this city, this state, and this country that supports reproductive rights, and we will fight like hell for those rights."
Fox News reported that, when pressed about supporting abortions up until the day of birth, Adams said women should have the right to choose what to do with their bodies.
"Men should not have that right to choose how a woman should treat their body," he said.
Over 400 pro-abortion "Bans Off Our Bodies" protests were held across the US on Saturday.
The protests are the latest in the pro-abortion movement's continued response to a leaked draft of a majority opinion from the US Supreme Court indicating the court is positioned to overturn Roe v Wade.
