A woke fiscal policy analyst for the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) will not face criminal charges after being caught on video allegedly causing over $21,000 in damages to Tesla vehicles parked across Minneapolis. Instead, he will be sent to a diversion program.

Dylan Bryan Adams, 33, was arrested on April 16 in connection with a series of vandalism incidents but was quickly released. Instead of facing prosecution, he will be allowed to enter a diversion program—a legal route often reserved for first-time, non-violent offenders. If he successfully completes the program, the vandalism will not go on his criminal record.

The decision, announced by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, has stirred significant controversy, especially among law enforcement.

Critics argue the decision reflects a pattern of leniency from Hennepin County prosecutors, particularly toward left-wing activists. This same office previously declined to prosecute most individuals involved in the 2020 George Floyd-related riots that led to widespread destruction throughout the Twin Cities.

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara reportedly expressed frustration with the decision, noting that his officers had dedicated significant time and resources to identifying and apprehending the suspect.

Adams has a documented history of partisan commentary on social media, frequently posting anti-Trump content.

The incident has also reignited political tensions within the state. Governor Tim Walz, who previously stated he “took glee” in Tesla’s stock volatility amid public backlash, was criticized for fostering what some describe as a permissive or even radicalized state government culture.

Even employees within the Minnesota DHS have spoken out. In a public response posted to X, the department stated: “As ethical DHS employees, we don’t support this activism. MN state gov is radicalized by incompetent Tim Walz who is parading across the USA in hopes of boosting his political career. This is not how state employees should behave.”
