On Friday at around 1:40 pm, a woman and her adult daughter were carjacked in the driveway of their residence in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood of Chicago. They claim that one of their attackers was 10-years-old or younger.

This latest incident has been reported as part of a growing and worrying trend of rampant crime in Chicago, including carjackings and other crimes occurring in broad daylight in the middle of residential neighborhoods.

According to local outlet CBS Chicago, one of the victims said that a car pulled in behind them as they pulled into their own driveway in the area of Harding Ave and 111th Street. Three people got out, and one of them pointed a gun at her.

One of the women said that one of the kids who committed the carjacking was less than 5-feet tall and looked to be between six and 10 years of age.

Surveillance camera video from the block shows the vehicle, a black sedan, behind the family's red SUV in the driveway. It also shows another car slowly going up the block. The footage captures another vehicle, a second car also in on the armed robbery, proceeding down the block. The mother and daughter escaped unhurt.

The mother said one of the suspects that aimed a gun demanded the keys to the Alfa Romeo. Police recovered the SUV a few hours later, but as of late Friday, the suspects have not been found by authorities at the time of publication.
