"I’m a researcher and we need to respect this essential role, however, we must also respect our role as advocates and leaders of collective action."
Texas Children's Hospital has turned into a far-left activist training camp for young doctors through the use of weekly training videos and advocated against anyone that questioned the Covid-19 narrative.
According to the Daily Wire, a dean of Baylor College of Medicine, which is affiliated with the hospital, Dr. Peter Hotez advocated for the federal government to treat those who questioned the Covid-19 narrative as terrorists.
"We put a lot of infrastructure in place to combat things like global terrorism, nuclear proliferation, cyberattacks, but this is a far greater killer is anti-science and I’ve been trying to make that case both to the Biden administration and the United Nations," he said in a training session.
"As academics, this is not the stuff we’re comfortable talking about or doing, but the health sector has gone about as far as it can with amplifying the message," Hotez noted.
In an editorial, Hotez wrote that claims of the virus resulting from a lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology are "fruitless scientific witch hunts, which will serve to distract the scientific community.”
"Republican members on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform also made a series of misleading or downright outlandish claims. Among them: that they had evidence that Covid-19 likely originated from a laboratory in Wuhan," he said of the credible theory, as was recently shown in a report from the Department of Energy.
Assistant professor of epidemiology Katelyn Jenelina spoke in a session about using tough love to get family members to comply with Covid-19 mandates. "We’re done playing this game. We are hurting people, and if we start putting down the stick and make that very apparent, I think people will take this seriously,” she said.
“If we compare ourselves to other countries that responded very well to this pandemic, Vietnam, what they did is they marketed as ‘us against an enemy,’ and the enemy was Covid-19. And so you get everyone rallying against an enemy," Jenalina told the young doctors.
The report talks about how other trainers discussed the need to control language as well as other issues that seemingly have nothing to do with medicine such as immigration and microaggressions. "We cannot allow [migrant children] to be forgotten,” the instructor told the group.
"I’m a researcher and we need to respect this essential role, however, we must also respect our role as advocates and leaders of collective action. Our hope is we can reshape and restructure the system in ways that are far more effective, humane, and just," one said.
Dr. Lindy McGee told the group that those who talk about topics such as "Informed consent" are looking to "Elevate the individual over the public good."
One instructor spoke to the group about why it was wrong for CNN to discuss an accurate report of people leaving Italy when it was about to implement lockdown. "Not necessarily misinformation, but it took the effectiveness out of the public health response."
One of the young doctors told the Daily Wire, "Medicine works by authority. And for a long time that worked. But now they’re using that authority to push things that have nothing to do with medicine.”
"On medicine, they forcefully demonized people that in some cases turned out to be right, and they don’t have the humility to admit it.” The doctor continued, "I saw people die because of these policies. People who couldn’t breathe and vomited into a mask. People who couldn’t come in for cancer screens.”
In March, a former head of the Center for Disease Control under the Trump administration told the House of Representatives that Covid-19 was likely the result of gain-of-function research being conducted at the Wuhan Lab. On Tuesday, a report by Matt Taibbi, Micheal Shellenberger, and Alex Gutentag written the PUBLIC substack noted that the first people sick from the virus had worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
