An amendment proposed by Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) that would have installed a warrant requirement for FISA requests on US citizens failed in the House on Friday afternoon.

The amendment was sponsored by Biggs but failed in a vote on the floor with a tie of 212-212 votes.

More than 80 Democrats joined with 128 Republicans in backing the measure. 86 Republicans and 126 Democrats opposed it.

In response to the amendment’s failure, Representative Bigg posted online, “86 Republicans voted with Joe Biden and the Uniparty to allow the FBI to continue spying on Americans without a warrant.”

"The Swamp is deep," he added.

Leading up to the vote, Biggs took to the floor and said that the intelligence community just "wants control" and "have it without any checks."

In a caption with his speech he wrote, "The intelligence community wants control with no checks. Congress cannot allow the FBI to continue skirting the Fourth Amendment. Get a warrant."
