On Monday, a small group of pro-Palestinian agitators holding a sign that read "Stop the world for Gaza" wreaked havoc on the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to protest the United States' funding of the ongoing war in the Middl East.

The move was part of a coordinated campaign to disrupt the economies of major cities around the world.

According to ABC7, the group managed to shut down all southbound lanes, bringing traffic heading into San Francisco to a standstill. The disruption eventually led to the northbound lane being closed as well.

Police were reportedly spotted in riot gear making their way onto the bridge to deal with the situation.

Earlier Monday morning, agitators disrupted traffic on the I-880 in nearby Oakland, shutting down lanes in both directions.

A third protest broke out in West Oakland shortly after 9:30am local time.

"In each city," organizers A15 Action explained, "we will identify and blockade major choke points in the economy, focusing on points of production and circulation with the aim of causing the most economic impact."

"There is a sense in the streets in this recent and unprecedented movement for Palestine," the group continued, "that escalation has become necessary: there is a need to shift from symbolic actions to those that cause pain to the economy.

"As Yemen is bombed to secure global trade, and billions of dollars are sent to the Zionist war machine, we must recognize that the global economy is complicit in genocide and together we will coordinate to disrupt and blockade economic logistical hubs and the flow of capital."

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
