Illegal border crossings at the southern border in the month of February were roughly 8,000, which is fewer than the Biden administration saw on single days when illegal immigration was reaching all-time highs in 2023.

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social, "The month of February, my first full month in Office, had the LOWEST number of Illegal Immigrants trying to enter our Country in History – BY FAR! There were only 8,326 apprehensions of Illegals by Border Patrol at the U.S. - Mexico Border, all of whom were quickly ejected from our Nation or, when necessary, prosecuted for crimes against the United States of America."

"This means that very few people came – The Invasion of our Country is OVER. In comparison, under Joe Biden, there were 300,000 Illegals crossing in one month, and virtually ALL of them were released into our Country. Thanks to the Trump Administration Policies, the Border is CLOSED to all Illegal Immigrants. Anyone who tries to illegally enter the U.S.A. will face significant criminal penalties and immediate deportation," Trump added.

Fox reporter Bill Melugin posted on X about the numbers under Trump's full first month in office and compared them to the record number of illegal immigrants that crossed the border under Biden.

"For perspective, President Biden repeatedly had *single days* where apprehensions were 8k/9k/10k, /w a climax of 11k in December 2023. One single day of apprehensions under Biden during the height of the border crisis was more than Trump's entire first month in office. Remarkable numbers. All done via executive action, and a drastically different approach to messaging and consequences," Melugin said.

He then added that the numbers in February were a "96% drop from the all-time highs of the Biden admin" regarding illegal immigration.

Illegal immigration was one of the key issues that Trump spoke on leading up to the 2024 election. The president has also brought on Border Czar Tom Homan, to reign in the rate of illegal immigration in the country as well as conduct a mass deportation effort, starting with those who entered the country illegally, but are also committing violent crimes.

Homan has previously threatened to prosecute local and state officials who do not cooperate with the effort.
