New York ships illegal immigrants to Utah as migrant crisis intensifies

"They actually told us that the shelter paid for their plane ticket. Are you aware of this and is this a concern?" a reporter asked.

During a monthly news conference, a reporter asked Utah Gov. Spencer Cox if he was aware that New York shelters have been paying for tickets to ship illegal immigrants out to the state of Utah.

In the Utah governor's monthly conference, Telemundo reporter Veronica Sansur asked, "What are your thoughts about migrants coming to our state... Are you concerned about the crisis of immigration here in our state? We know that there's some migrants that arrived here from New York City shelter this week."

"They actually told us that the shelter paid for their plane ticket. Are you aware of this and is this a concern?" Sansur continued.

Cox then responded, talking about how mass immigration in the state of Utah would be a concern and that cartels are bringing people from all over the world across the border.

Despite answering the question on his concerns over immigration, the Utah governor never spoke as to why the illegal immigrants would be flying from New York City to the state of Utah.

New York City has become an epicenter of the border crisis with Mayor Eric Adams saying last week that the city is "out of room" for more migrants to arrive.

"Our hearts are endless, but our resources are not," Adams said in a recent interview. "It's not like New York is not saying we are not a city of immigrants. We are. We have a rich history of immigrants, but we can't take the global problem and [have] it become our problem. That is unfair to New Yorkers, and is unfair to migrants."

Multiple reports of illegal immigrants being flown across the country from the border to sanctuary states on airlines such as Delta have occurred within the last few months.
