The former head of the Biden administration's now-defunct Disinformation Governance Board, Nina Jankowicz, made the claim that it was actually "liberal voices that are being silenced," not conservative ones, on social media.
The ex-'Minister of Truth,' a term coined by conservatives who saw parallels between the government "disinformation" board to the fictional government ministry from George Orwell's novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, said during a livestream that anti-conservative bias online is a myth.

"There's already this idea, this allegation, that there is anti-conservative bias on the platforms, even though there has been study after study proving, in fact, that often it's liberal voices that are being silenced, particularly minority voices on social media. So I think we're going to see more allegations of that," said Jankowicz in a clip that later went viral.

The clip, which originally surfaced in May, seems especially ironic now since Elon Musk began sharing the "Twitter Files" yesterday, which were disseminated via writer Matt Taibbi, an outspoken critic of political censorship. In a long thread, Taibbi shared internal communications showing requests from President Joe Biden's campaign team to remove certain posts being honored, as well as the coordinated suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story.
Among the censored Twitter users was then-Trump White House spokeswoman Kaleigh McEnany, who was locked out of her account for tweeting about the story.

"Episode 2" of the Twitter files are to be released Saturday, Musk said.

Even though the Disinformation Governance Board was dissolved after public backlash in August, the "disinformation czar" has found a place in Europe to continue her work, and is now a registered foreign agent.
On September 23, the Centre for Information Resilience (CIR), a UK-based nonprofit, announced that Jankowicz would be joining their efforts in "countering hostile state efforts to distort the information space" as their new vice president.
They also announced that she'd be launching the "Hypatia Project," in order to "combat gendered abuse and disinformation."
One of the given examples of this so-called "gendered abuse" was criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris' romantic relationship with former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, who appointed her to two California state commissions in the early 90s after dating her.
"During Kamala Harris's historic Vice-Presidential campaign, she faced a torrent of online abuse and lies that claimed she 'slept her way to the top,'" the CIR said.
In a 2019 San Francisco Chronicle op-ed, Brown wrote "Sure, I dated Kamala Harris. So what?" He admitted he may have "influenced" her career by throwing his political support behind her for appointments and her race for district attorney, but added that he also influenced the careers of other politicians.
Jankowicz shared CIR's announcement, and added that she is "thrilled" to be "building CIR's portfolio countering gendered disinfo and supporting CIR's ongoing work responding to foreign influence."

In another slight at accusations of anti-conservative bias, she retweeted NBC reporter Ben Collins, who wrote that Musk owning Twitter is a bigger scandal than the political censorship he discovered.
