Joe Biden appears to fall asleep during meeting with Maui survivors

The clip, which was previously streamed live, went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter. In the video, Biden can be seen bowing his head as his chest slowly rises up and down. As Biden continuously breathes slowly, a man speaking in the background can be heard talking about "ohana" as well as the personal hardships that he and many of his family have faced amid the destructive fires.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk shared the clip, noting that Biden is a “National embarrassment!”

This isn’t the first time Biden was caught seemingly taking a nap while in public. In October 2021, many accused of him going to sleep during a televised interview with MSNBC’s Jonathan Capehart.

“I have not made that formal decision but it’s my intention to run again and we’ll have time to make that decision,” Biden told Capehart at the time in regard to his plans for making another White House run.

“Dr. Biden is for it?” Capehart joked, resulting in the extended silence from Biden, whose eyes remained open the entire time. “Mr. President …,” the flustered host followed up when the 79-year-old appeared to space out.

Biden then appeared to space out, prompting Capehart to say “Mr. President …,” in what some may interpret as a concerned tone of voice.

At a later time during that same year, Biden was seen doing something similar at the COP26 United Nations Climate Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.

After the video seems to show Biden falling asleep yet again, he then appears to get woken up by an aide of sorts.

Even CNN was unable to deny what Biden had done at the time; the media outlet ran a headline that read, “'The Eagle is dozing!': Biden appears to doze off at climate summit.”
