“Why do you feel compelled to make so much of this? @OmarAlghabra doubles down as the rest of the world sheds mask mandates.”
Dr. Jordan Peterson tweeted at Canada's Minister of Transport, Omar Alghabra, after he tweeted about how the government would continue to punish passengers on the December 30 flight between Montreal and Cancun, Mexico.
"Passengers on the December 30 MTL-Cancun flight continue to face the consequences of their actions with 12 new penalties issued. 7 for non-compliance with vaccination rules and 5 for not wearing a mask. 24 in total with more to come," tweeted Alghabra of the incident that saw Quebecois influencers take video of themselves while violating travel restrictions.
The influencers were the subject of much controversy, and for a time, were even stuck in Mexico as airliners refused to provide them with flights home. These airliners include SunWing, Air Canada, and Quebec-owned Air Transat.

Peterson asked Alghabra why he felt it was appropriate to make such a big hoopla out a months-old situation, while other countries drop mask mandates and travel restrictions: "Why do you feel compelled to make so much of this? @OmarAlghabra doubles down as the rest of the world sheds mask mandates," wrote Peterson on Twitter.

Peterson has been a vocal critic of Omar Alghabra, as well as the entire Trudeau government, and has criticized them for the slow pace at which they have decided to give Canadians back their rights.
Many provinces have already dropped their mask mandates, with a handful of countries completely dropping all travel restrictions for entry.
Last week, Peterson tweeted, once again in response to Alghabra: "Oh look! [Omar Alghabra] and his fearless leader [Justin Trudeau] deign to give some [of] our stolen rights back."
