ABC News reporter swoons over romance between Charlie Kirk assassin and trans roommate: ‘very touching’

An ABC reporter who was in attendance at a press briefing in Utah where charges against the suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination were detailed claimed that the text messages between the alleged killer and his transgender romantic partner were "very touching." In those messages, Tyler Robinson urged his lover Lance Twiggs to destroy evidence to help cover up his connection to the killing.
Matt Gutman told viewers "we have seen an alleged murderer with such specific text messages about the alleged murder weapon, where it was hidden, how it was placed, what was on it.

"So it was this duality of someone who, the attorney said, not only jeopardized the life of Charlie Kirk and the crowd, but was doing it in front of children, which is one of the aggravating circumstances of this case. And on the other hand, he was, you know, speaking so lovingly about his partner. So a very interesting... riveting press conference."
Since a suspect was named, there has been an effort among mainstream media outlets to paint him as a person on the far-right wing and now that this narrative has been proven false by investigators, ABC takes the view that the alleged killer was a loving partner to his trans boyfriend.
During that press conference, the Utah county attorney on the case revealed that accused killer Tyler Robinson came from a conservative family but had taken up leftist positions on trans and other position and believed Charlie Kirk was a hateful person.
Gutman later apologizes for what he's said. "Yesterday," he said on Wednesday, "I tried to underscore the jarring contrast between this cold blooded assassination of Charlie Kirk - a man who dedicated his life to public dialogue - and the personal, disturbing texts read aloud by the Utah County Attorney at the press conference.
"I deeply regret that my words did not make that clear.
"But let there be zero doubt here: I unequivocally condemn this horrific crime and the pain it caused Charlie Kirk's family, those who were forced to witness it at UVU, and the millions of people he inspired."
