"He hates conservatives and Christians."
“He hates conservatives and Christians,” the relative said, describing Twiggs as the “black sheep” of the family. “He hated us. He was not raised that way, but he, over the years, has become really detached [and] been radicalized.”
Twiggs, who is male but believes he is female, lived with Robinson at a townhouse in St. George, Utah, according to public records. The relative said Twiggs began acting differently around the age of 18, becoming angrier and more isolated. “He has obviously gotten progressively worse the last year or two,” she said, adding that Twiggs now appears “always very angry.”
Authorities confirmed Twiggs was in a romantic relationship with Robinson but emphasized that Twiggs is cooperating fully with investigators. Both the FBI and Utah officials said Twiggs has not been charged and is not accused of any role in the assassination plot.
The family member noted that both Twiggs and Robinson spent significant time in online gaming communities, which she believed played a role in shaping their views. “I think Tyler got a whole lot worse in the year they have been dating. They are big gamers, and obviously they have that group that influences them as well as others,” she said. It is also believed that Robinson had an obsession with the furry community.
The family member added that her family wants accountability: “Everybody in my family wants justice to be served and wants no part in this and wants whoever is involved in whatever way to have to pay for that.”
Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on September 10 at Utah Valley University, where he was speaking as part of his American Comeback Tour. He was struck in the neck by a single bullet just after taking a question related to transgender mass shooters.
The FBI has said Twiggs was “extremely cooperative” during the investigation and told agents he had “no idea” about Robinson’s alleged plans to assassinate Kirk. Kirk was 31 years old.
