Andrew Cuomo attorney claims lead accuser had affair with finance mogul, threatened him for backing up governor

Boylan led the charge against Cuomo by being the first woman to publicly accuse him of harassment and sexual misconduct.

Attorney General Letitia James eventually released a report on Cuomo last August accusing the former governor of sexually harassing 11 women, including nine current and former state employees. Cuomo resigned within days.

According to Glavin, Cuomo will take legal action if the state's Attorney General refuses to re-evaluate claims that his accuser was having an affair with another state official. Glavin said recent evidence turned over to her by James shows that Boylan was "more than professional" with Empire State Development CEO Howard Zemsky, who is married with three kids, back in 2017.

The lawyer claims that both Boylan and Zemsky denied having an affair and that both of them spoke to James' investigators, but she charges that their testimony is inconsistent. "My read of the testimony is that they're not consistent with each other," said Glavin, per the Daily Mail. The lawyer made her allegations in a lengthy virtual press conference on Thursday where she also charged that Boylan used Confide, an encrypted messaging app, to threaten Zemsky after he and others disputed her claim that Cuomo asked her to play strip poker on the governor's jet.

"I can't wait to destroy your life, your [sic] s–t follower," Glavin claims Boylan said to Zemsky. "And I presume Ms. Boylan is referring to herself and knowing something about Mr. Zemsky," Glavin said, noting that Zemsky "changed his story" after receiving the text, but Boylan was never questioned about the message.

"The AG had evidence that Ms. Boylan was tampering with a witness, trying to get him to corroborate her and threatened to destroy his life if he didn't," she added.

It is unclear how or from whom Glavin acquired the texts from the presumably-encrypted platform. It is also unclear if the texts have been independently verified and validated for authenticity.

James does not seem to think they're authentic. Her spokesperson dismissed Glavin and Cuomo's allegations against Boylan, stating: "Another day, another attempt by the former governor to attack the brave women who called out his abuse."

"The former governor and his attorney are continuing their smear campaign of Ms. Boylan to punish her for being the first of multiple women to expose the governor's misconduct," said Boylan's attorney Julie Gerchik in response to the allegations.
