Axe-wielding Antifa protester arrested again

Randy Allen Graves, 32, faces multiple felonies and more than two dozen charges stemming from an arrest on Saturday. He’s been charged with seven counts of menacing, three felony counts of unlawful use of a weapon, fourth-degree assault, seven counts of second-degree disorderly conduct, seven counts of reckless endangering and three counts of possession of a weapon in a park.

According to Portland Police, an assault victim told authorities he was riding his bicycle in Chapman Square Park in downtown when Graves randomly opened fire with his paintball gun, causing an injury. Graves also allegedly threatened to kill park rangers and later brandished an axe at them.

Despite the dozens of charges, Graves was bailed out.

Originally from Louisiana, Graves moved to the Pacific Northwest in July 2020, where he has been a regular at BLM-Antifa protests and riots in both Seattle and Portland. His Twitter history shows he communicated and coordinated with Antifa groups in Portland to “defend” illegal encampments from being cleared. He was charged with felony second-degree assault and menacing in early January this year, but that case was later dropped.

Two days after Graves’ arrest on Saturday, he returned to Chapman Square in violation of an exclusion order issued against him. On Monday, he was arrested again and cited for second-degree criminal trespass but was not booked into jail.

In line with the Multnomah County District Attorney’s policy of not prosecuting most protest-related crimes, one count of reckless endangering another person and two counts of possession of a weapon in a park have been dismissed against Graves.

His indictment is scheduled for June 2.

Graves has since returned to Twitter to mock Portland Police. “Chuds taunting us...” he tweeted Sunday. “F— with me.”
