Biden’s approval rating among black Americans down 17 points: NBC poll

The poll found that approval of Biden’s job performance has fallen by 17 points among black voters since 2021, from 80 percent to 63 percent.

Biden’s job performance approval is also down from 61 percent in 2021 to 43 percent among Latino voters, down 17 points from 43 percent to 26 percent among voters with a high school diploma or less, and down 14 points among independent voters, from 50 percent in 2021 to 36 percent.

Overall, Biden’s job performance approval rating is down from 51 percent in April of 2021 to 41 percent in the most recent poll.

74 percent of voters said that they had major or moderate concerns over Biden not having the necessary physical or mental health to be president for a second term. Just 26 percent had minor or no concerns on the topic.

Trump had far less concerned over his fitness to be president, with 47 percent expressing moderate or major concerns over his physical or mental health, and 52 percent saying there were minor or no concerns.

The poll also found that Biden and Trump were tied at 46 percent support among voters, representing a shift in Trump’s favor from June, when Biden received 49 percent support and Trump received 45 percent.

The poll was conducted between September 15 and 19 of 1000 registered voters, and has a margin of error of 3.10 percent.

This poll comes as another survey, conducted by ABC News and the Washington Post, found that Trump now has a massive 10-point lead over Biden among registered voters.

In an effort to win back young black voters, Vice President Kamala Harris embarked on her "Fight for Our Freedoms College Tour," in which she will visit historically black colleges and universities in September and October and "highlight how the Biden-Harris Administration has delivered for young people, outline the work ahead to protect fundamental freedoms, and hear directly from students who are organizing on the frontlines of these fights."
