This reverses a lower court ruling that said he should be removed.

The Michigan Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the name of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. must remain on presidential ballots in that state. This after a lower court ruled on Friday that his name should be removed following his suspension of his campaign and petition to remove his name from voters' consideration in 10 battleground states. Kennedy endorsed Donald Trump.
Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson had said that Kennedy's name could not be removed. The Kennedy campaign took her to court over that, and on Monday, after she lost the lower court ruling, Benson petitioned the Supreme Court in the state for an "emergency ruling." That bid by Benson was successful.
The order from the Michigan Supreme Court stated that "On order of the Court, the motion for immediate consideration is GRANTED. The application for leave to to appeal the September 6, 2024 judgement of the Court of Appeals is considered, and... in lieu of granting leave to appeal, we REVERSE the judgement of the Court of Appeals and VACATE the opinion and order of the Court of Claims except for that part of the Court of Claims order denying the motion for immediate mandamus relief and temporary restraining order/injunction and dismissing the complain with prejudice, which we REINSTATE. The motions for stay is DENIED as moot."

The court determined that a candidate is not permitted to withdraw from the presidential race after accepting nomination form a minor political party.
The Michigan appeals court on Friday said that Democrat Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson "had no basis to deny [Kennedy's] request to withdraw his name from the ballot," the Detroit Free Press reports.
The appeals court further determined that the law Benson used to justify her refusal to remove Kennedy's name from the ballot "only to candidates for state office, not to presidential candidates such as Kennedy."
Benson taunted former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani, saying "Hi @RudyGiuliani
I know you're no longer a licensed attorney because you made several 'demonstrably false and misleading statements' about the 2020 election, so allow me to clarify Michigan law for you. MCL 168.686a(4): Candidates who are nominated and accept a minor party's nomination 'shall not be permitted to withdraw.'"

Michigan is one the key states that both Republican contender Donald Trump and Kamala Harris have been fighting over, as it could go for either of them. A North Carolina court also put a pause on sending out ballots, saying that they should not be sent with Kennedy's name on them.
