Buffalo pro-life center firebombed by radical pro-abortion activists

CompassCare said that the windows leading into their reception room and nurses’ office were smashed, and fires were lit inside. Firefighters and officers responded early in the morning to smoke emanating from the building.

Graffiti left on the building referenced the group Jane’s Revenge, which has taken credit for the fire set at the Madison, Wisconsin headquarters of Wisconsin Family Action. The graffiti read, "Jane was here."

CEO of CompassCare Jim Harden said, "This is the pro-abortion ‘Kristallnacht.’ Because of this act of violence, the needs of women facing unplanned pregnancy will go unmet and babies will die. I wonder if Gov. Hochul will veto the Pregnancy Center Investigation Bill? I wonder if Attorney General Letitia James will investigate these cowardly criminals? CompassCare will rebuild because women deserve better. CompassCare will not stop serving because pre-born boys and girls deserve protection."

CompassCare, which prides itself on "erasing the need for abortion," states that they exist "to help you make an informed decision based on facts about pregnancy, parenting, abortion and adoption. Pregnancy decisions are too important to leave your experience to a rushed, clinical conversation and a waiting room where you feel like a number. CompassCare Will Empower You, Not Pressure You."

In a post on their website, CompassCare referenced a bill heading to Governor Kathy Hochul’s desk that would launch studies into clinics the bill calls "limited service pregnancy centers" and their impact on the services that women can receive.

They also noted that Hochul has pledged $25 million from the Department of Health’s emergency fund to help abortion providers increase their capacity, and an additional $10 million to help providers beef up security, according to CBS News.

"CompassCare and other pro-life service centers have been the target of violence for months, both online and in-person. Because of the escalating violence against pro-lifers, CompassCare alerted the local police and FBI, consulted with security professionals for a safety plan, and engaged a security firm who were expediting the installation of armored glass for the Buffalo office," CompassCare wrote of their own experience.

The group Jane’s Revenge published a call to action the night that the Supreme Court ruling in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health is handed down, calling it a "Night of Rage." The case could potentially see the overturning of Roe v Wade, with a draft document leaked in May suggesting that a majority of the justices could rule as such.

"On the night the final ruling is issued — a specific date we cannot yet predict, but we know is arriving imminently — we are asking for courageous hearts to come out after dark," the call to action began. "Whoever you are and wherever you are, we are asking for you to do what you can to make your anger known."

The group writes that at 8 pm these actions will begin nationwide, and said for "cis male allies" that want to join to use themselves as shields for the women protesting.

They urge potential protestors to begin their plans now, with some of these plans resulting in the actions seen in Buffalo and Madison. "We must not only circulate this call on social media, but reach out to communities who may not be in touch with 'radical circles’ online."
