The Madison, Wisconsin headquarters of a pro-life organization has been vandalized with Molotov cocktails.

Vandals set fire to the Wisconsin Family Action office early Sunday morning, Madison.com reported.

Two staff returned to the office Sunday morning to find graffiti writing on the wall saying, "If abortions aren’t safe, then you aren’t either."

There was shattered glass from a broken window covering a corner office, and books and furniture had been tossed over and thrown around. Graffiti also depicted a coded anti-police slogan.

Madison Police Department Chief Shon Barnes said the department alerted its federal partners and are investigating the arson with the Madison Fire Department.

"It appears a specific non-profit that supports anti-abortion measures was targeted," Barnes said in a statement.

"Due to the suspicious nature of this fire, our arson investigators responded," Madison police spokeswoman Stephanie Fryer said. "They are actively working this case at this time."

A Madison Police Department incident report states, "Flames were seen coming from the facility shortly after 6 am"

The report confirmed that nobody was injured.

"What you're going to see here is a direct threat against us," Julaine Appling, president of the advocacy organization said of the attack, which comes just days after a leaked draft US Supreme Court opinion indicated that a majority of the court would vote to overturn Roe v Wade in the case of Dobbs v Jackson Women's Health.

"Imagine if somebody had been in the office when this happened. They would have been hurt," Appling said.

"This is the local manifestation of the anger and the lack of tolerance from the pro-abortion people toward those of us who are pro-life," Appling said.

Appling said that she and events coordinator Diane Westphall were preparing for a Mother's Day brunch in Watertown when a staff member informed her of the break-in. She noted that a person traveling to the airport before dawn saw smoke coming from the building and called police.

The event marks one of many incidents erupting across the US since the leaked Roe decision.

Pro-abortion activists in Virginia and Maryland on Saturday gathered around the homes of Supreme Court justices who were signed onto the draft opinion.

Former Vice President Mike Pence on Saturday said the White House must do more to help calm things amid civil unrest caused by the recent Supreme Court document leak.
