Far-left pastor and Georgia senatorial candidate Raphael Warnock calls Republicans ‘gangsters’ and ‘child killers’
Raphael Warnock, the far-left leaning senior pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Georgia, compared Republicans in a sermon to “thugs,” “gangsters” and even “child killers.”
"While others were sleeping, members of the United States Senate declared war, launched a vicious and evil attack on the most vulnerable people in America," said Warnock from the pulpit in Dec. 2017.
Warnock then went as far as to compare politicians who voted for tax cuts to the infamous King Herod from the Bible, according to Fox News. For those of you not familiar with the story, Herod was famous for ordering all children under the age of two killed within his territory, in an effort to do away with Baby Jesus.
"Herod is on the loose. Herod is a cynical politician, who's willing to kill children and kill the children's health program in order to preserve his own wealth and his own power. Hope is in the air, but Herod is on the loose."
"On Friday night, the United States Senate decided by a slim majority, to pick the pockets of the poor, the sick, the old, and the yet-unborn, in order to line the pockets of the ultra-rich. Don’t tell me about gangsters and thugs on the streets. There are more gangsters and thugs in Washington DC," said Warnock, who is also running for a hotly contested seat in the US Senate.
Warnock's concern for the "yet-unborn" does not extend to his personal views on abortion. He is famously and publicly pro-choice and has received a lot of pushback from other people in the Christian community, since the vast majority of Christians believe that life begins at conception.
Alveda King, the niece of the late Martin Luther King Jr., who also held the post of pastor at Ebenezer Baptist Church, spoke out against Warnock's contradictory views.
