WATCH: Indiana grandmother first to be sentenced in connection with Capitol riot

Morgan-Lloyd detailed her experience on Jan. 6 and with law enforcement over the following months during a Thursday night segment with Fox News' Laura Ingraham.

According to Morgan-Lloyd, she was held in FBI custody for two days while "waiting to see a judge." She said she was not a flight risk, and has "lived in the same area all her life."

Ingraham discussed the fact that the public defender appointed to her case had her read a script to the judge, indicating that she was "evolving" as a person.

"At first it concerned me that she thought I was racist, but I read the books. It didn't bother me because I'm not racist," Morgan-Lloyd explained. "And they were interesting. I'd recommend anybody read 'Just Mercy' 'cause it was a very emotional book."

She said she was "more than willing" to read the public defender's required reading because she's "not racist."

The grandmother said she went to the Capitol to show her support for then-President Donald Trump. During that time, she met a 74-year-old woman, who eventually made her way up the steps of the Capitol building. Morgan-Lloyd said she entered the Capitol building because she "wanted to protect her."

"I would have felt terrible if she went up those steps that day and was hurt," she stated. "So I went up the steps behind her to protect her."

Morgan-Lloyd recounted her experience on Jan. 6, saying those that were around her were "polite."

"Where I was at we seen nobody damage anything," she said, indicating other Trump supporters said "excuse me" when accidentally bumping into one another.

"Nobody was breaking anything and it was calm enough that people were walking out of the Capitol building that worked there, walked right past this and they had no fear on their face at all," the grandmother stated.

"We followed a 74-year-old woman in to get her out. She didn't fight anybody to get in. We seen police officers standing in that back hallway. They were standing and they were relaxed. They didn't tell anybody to leave. They were talking and chatting with people."

Morgan-Lloyd's plea deal involves "three years of probation, $500 in restitution and 40 hours of community service," the IndyStar reported. She is also prohibited from purchasing a firearm.

Multiple commissions have been established to investigate the Capitol Hill riots. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) indicated earlier this week she plans to create her own 9/11-style commission.
