Vice President Kamala Harris was slammed with a hail of "boos" from the crowd at the first round of NCAA March Madness basketball on Thursday, while watching her alma mater school get crushed by their opponents.
At the men's game between Washington, DC's Howard University and the University of Kansas set at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, the boos from the crowd "outweighed the applause" when Harris was shown on the big screen, reported the Associated Press.

"You guys are so good, you guys are so good," the veep, who graduated in 1986, said. "You played hard, you played to the very last second, you made all us Bisons so, so proud."

Until the last minute, you guys did that, you didn't stop until the last second, you did not stop, and that is so inspiring. So you keep playing with chin up and shoulders back because you showed the world who Bison are," she continued.
She went on to joke about how when she was a Howard student herself, they were just happy that the Bisons got to play at all, "much less getting to this place."
"You make us so proud, so I know you might not be feeling great right now, OK, but know who you are: You are excellence, you are hard work, you are powerful and you are winners," Harris concluded, before inviting the team for a White House tour.
The jeers came just two days after Harris was heckled by a group of protesters gathered outside The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's New York studio on Wednesday afternoon.
While she was hussled into her black SUV after pre-recording an appearance on the show, the demonstrators could be seen yelling "lock her up," waving signs, and chasing after her motorcade as it pulled away.
