Kamala’s running mate praised Hitler-promoting Muslim leader as a ‘master teacher’—Tim Walz denies having ‘personal relationship’ with him
“Over the time we’ve spent together, one of the things I’ve had the privilege of is seeing the things in life through the eye of a master teacher.”
Tim Walz has praised a Hitler-promoting and terrorist attack-celebrating Muslim leader as a "master teacher" for his lessons during the time they have "spent together." The footage of the two comes as Tim Walz's campaign has said that he doesn't have a "personal relationship" with Asad Zaman of the Muslim American Society of Minnesota.
The clip, uncovered by the Washington Examiner, shows Walz campaigning to be the governor of Minnesota at the time. While giving a few remarks in 2018, Walz praised Zaman, "I am a teacher, so when I see a master teacher, I know it."
"Over the time we’ve spent together, one of the things I’ve had the privilege of is seeing the things in life through the eye of a master teacher, to try and get the understanding," Walz added in his remarks praising Zaman. Walz continued, saying that that the imam had taught him multiple "lessons" in his life. One was that Congress “feeds on fear more than hope."
“It was a lesson when imam told me to go speak to people,” Walz added at the event. “I have pushed back through my whole career on the demonization of Islam, on the demonization of immigrants. … In this space, Imam Zaman is right on this, there is Islamophobia, there is a hatred that is being stirred.”
Zaman, who is also the director of Minnesota’s Muslim American Society, said on Oct. 7 last year that he “stands in solidarity with Palestinians against Israeli attacks" after 1,200 Jews had been killed by Hamas terrorists. Zaman's social media history includes the sharing a link to a pro-Hitler film called, "The Greatest Story Never Told."
Under Walz's time as governor, Zaman's organization has gotten over $100,000 in funding from the Minnesota state government. Spokesmen for Harris and Walz did not reply to request for comment from the Washington Examiner.
