Louisiana store clerk charged with manslaughter after shooting, killing armed robber
Investigators said Anderson claimed he fled the crime scene because he didn’t know if he had hit the suspect and that he informed them that there had been four armed robberies and two attempted robberies at the store just since August.
Store cashier Rafus Anderson was charged with manslaughter after police say he killed an armed robber in the Louisiana Dollar General where he worked.
According to Fox 5 Vegas, Monroe Police Department officers on Tuesday responded to a report of a robbery and shooting at the store and found the armed robbery suspect lying in a pile of money he allegedly stole with at least one gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and later died of his injuries.

"The suspect in the armed robbery would be located north of the store, lying in the money he had just robbed the store of," police recalled in an affidavit of probable cause filed with the Ouachita County Sheriff's Office.
Officers said that Anderson, 30, fired a shot at the armed robbery suspect, which not only hit the intended target but also another customer inside the store.
The injured bystander was treated at the hospital and later released.
According to police, Anderson locked the door to the Dollar General, set the alarm, and went to the police station to give a statement, saying that "he was afraid the suspect was going to kill him when he pulled out the gun and robbed the store."
Investigators said Anderson claimed he fled the crime scene because he didn't know if he had actually hit the suspect and that he informed them that there had been four armed robberies and two attempted robberies at the store just since August.
Anderson is currently being held at Ouachita Correctional Center without bond on a manslaughter charge.
