Madison school shooting victims identified as 14-year-old girl, substitute teacher

14-year-old student Rubi Patricia Vergara as well as 42-year-old teacher Erin M. West have been identified by the medical examiner as two people fatally shot during Rupnow's shooting rampage at the Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin, per Fox News.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting and the deaths were ruled to be caused by "homicidal firearm related trauma." The report from the medical examiner also identified the shooter as Rupnow, who died from "firearm related trauma."

"These deaths remain under investigation by the City of Madison Police Department and the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. No further information will be released at this time," the report stated.

Vergara was a freshman at the school who was described as "an avid reader, lover of art, and singing and playing keyboard in the family worship band" in her obituary. It was a "very hard week" for her family, Vergara's aunt told reporters. The student's funeral is slated for Saturday at 11 am in Madison, Wisconsin. Two guns were recovered at the scene of the shooting, however, police told reporters that only one was used to carry out the killings by Rupnow.

Rupnow had a history of needing counseling and therapy amid her parents going through divorce three times and in an alleged manifesto, wrote, "Humanity is filth and I don't like filth nor want to live in it nor should anyone else and I know it follows me and how it has followed me and will follow everyone because of how the world is runned.” (sic)

Rupnow added that her parents were "scum" in the alleged manifesto. She had a Tumblr account in which Rupnow had posts about the Columbine shooters as well as a birthday post featuring pistols and the caption "Happy birthday to me!!!"

Two other students are in critical condition after the shooting with life-threatening injuries. One other teacher as well as three other students suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Two of them have been released from medical care.
