Former First Lady Melania Trump posted a video on Saturday criticizing the FBI for invading her privacy during the 2022 raid of her and Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home and calling it a “warning to all Americans.”
"I never imagined my privacy would be invaded by the government here in America," Melania explained in the video posted on X. “The FBI raided my home in Florida and searched through my personal belongings."

At the time of the raid, Trump revealed that his wife felt "very violated," specifically pointing out that agents had searched through her closet and personal items, leaving them in disarray. "They go into her closet, they go through her dresses, and who knows what else," he said. "And it wasn’t left the way they found it."
Donald Trump has since announced plans to sue the Department of Justice for $100 million in damages following the unprecedented raid. His legal team has argued that the raid was carried out with “clear intent to engage in political persecution.”
"What President Trump is doing here is not just standing up for himself – he is standing up for all Americans who believe in the rule of law and believe that you should hold the government accountable when it wrongs you," Trump attorney Daniel Epstein explained to Fox News. Epstein further claimed that the decision to carry out the raid by the FBI and DOJ was “inconsistent with protocols requiring the consent of an investigative target, disclosure to that individual’s attorneys, and the use of the local US Attorney’s Office."
Melania Trump’s public remarks come amid the promotion of her upcoming memoir, Melania, set for release in October. The video has been part of multiple public statements in recent days, marking an increase in visibility for the former First Lady, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight during her husband’s multiple presidential campaigns.
