Former CNN news anchor Don Lemon reacted to the video of former First Lady Melania Trump speaking about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump, seemingly mocking her reaction to her husband almost being murdered.

In a reaction video, Lemon is seen making dismissive faces as Melania discusses the traumatic experience. When Melania described the attempt on her husband's life as a "horrible and distressing experience,” Lemon rolled his eyes at the camera. Melania continued her video by questioning why there were severe failures by law enforcement to prevent the shooting from happening, which left Lemon waving his hands around and shaking his head in disapproval.

"I can't help but wonder, why didn't law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech?" she said in the video. "There is definitely more to the story and we need to uncover the truth."

Melania's comments refer to multiple security failures on the day of the assassination attempt on Donald Trump. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, had reportedly been able to fly a drone near the rally site beforehand and was seen walking around with a rangefinder and a backpack. Despite these red flags, Crooks managed to gain a vantage point on a rooftop to fire shots at the former President without apparent interference from the Secret Service. Following public outcry over these security lapses, Kimberly Cheatle, the Director of the Secret Service, resigned.

The video posted by Melania Trump comes as she promotes her upcoming memoir, set for release on October 1. Titled "Melania," the book is described as "the powerful and inspiring story of a woman who has defined personal excellence, overcome adversity, and carved her own path.”
