NEW: Trump out-raises Biden by $25 Million in April

The Trump campaign put out a statement from press secretary Karoline Leavitt that took aim at Biden's Hollywood connections and touted the small donors who, she said, are giving to the Trump campaign. It also touched on the trial Trump has been facing in New York, to which courthouse he has been confined, preventing him from campaigning as much as he would like.

"The only people left in America who support Crooked Joe Biden are out-of-touch billionaires in Hollywood, and it turns out even they are done giving to a failing campaign. President Trump and the RNC significantly outraised Biden and the Democrats in the month of April, thanks to the support of millions of small-dollar donors from every state across the country. President Trump's fundraising haul over Biden is especially remarkable when you consider he has been confined to a courtroom for nearly 9 hours a day over the past four weeks fighting against Biden's Trial. President Trump's fundraising prowess and his increasingly dominant position in the polls proves three things— the momentum is 100% on President Trump's side, Americans see the truth about Joe Biden's witch-hunt trial in New York, and they want President Trump back in the White House to Make America Great Again."

According to the Associated Press, Biden’s April totals were also far down from March, during which the campaign took in over $90 million.

Though Biden’s campaign claimed to have $192 million cash-on-hand at the end of April, the outlet reported that was also approximately the same amount it reported having at the end of the year’s first quarter on March 30, likely implying that the campaign was spending money just as fast as it was raising it.

"The Biden operation’s cash on hand was flat month over month as the campaign invested in a series of offices across the battlegrounds, as well as an early advertising blitz," The New York Times confirmed.

Trump and the Republicans raised over $65.6 million in March and finished the month with $93.1 million cash on hand.

The New York Times reports that "The Biden campaign said on Monday evening that it had raised $51 million in April with the Democratic National Committee — which was just over half as much as they raised in March, and also a touch less than they raised in February. In filings with the Federal Election Commission on Monday, Mr. Biden’s campaign committee reported taking in $24.2 million in April, compared with $43.8 million in March."

In March, Democrats held an event for Biden with former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, which raised $26 million. However, shortly thereafter, Trump raised a record-setting $50.5 million during one event with donors in Palm Beach, Florida.

As Democrats look to close the gap, Biden continues to grapple with low approval ratings.

"We’re worried," read a recent campaign emailer from Biden. "We’re not even close to the amount we raised last month at this point."
