Trump leads Biden by 11 points among independent voters nationwide: Harvard/Harris poll

With third-party candidate Robert F Kennedy added into the mix, Trump still maintains his lead over the pack, bringing in 43 percent of the vote.

A new national poll has revealed that Donald Trump leads Biden by 6 points overall, with Trump seeing s lead margin among independent voters at 11 percent. 

The Harvard CAPS/Harris poll found that 49 percent of voters nationwide would cast their ballot for Trump, while 43 percent said the same for Biden. 8 percent were unsure.  

The vast majority of GOP voters, 93 percent, said they would cast their ballot for Trump, while 4 percent said they would vote for Biden and 3 percent were unsure. A larger amount of Democrat voters said they would cross the aisle and cast their ballot for Trump, at 8 percent. Additionally, 47 percent of independent voters said they would vote for Trump, compared to 36 percent who said they would vote for Biden. 

When forced to choose one or the other, 53 percent said they would vote for Trump while 47 percent said they would vote for Biden. 

With third-party candidate Robert F Kennedy added into the mix, Trump still maintains his lead over the pack, bringing in 43 percent of the vote. Biden received 39 percent support and 12 percent said they would vote for Kennedy. 6 percent were unsure. 

Among possible picks for Trump’s vice president, Florida Governor Ron Desantis leads the pack with 12 percent. Tim Scott came in second with 9 percent support, and Vivek Ramaswamy came in third with 8 percent of the support. Overall, the option for "none of the above" led with 28 percent, being driven by Democrat and independent support. 

70 percent of Democrats and 78 percent of GOP voters have made up their mind on who they are going to vote for come November, with 56 percent of independents also responding as such. 

The poll also found that the vast majority of voters want Biden and Trump to debate, with 79 percent responding as such. An additional 63 percent said the candidates would provide "valuable information" in these debates. On the topic of third-party candidate inclusion at these debates, 71 percent said they should be included. 

The poll was conducted between May 15 and 16 of 1,660 registered voters nationwide and has a margin of error of 2 percent.
