Rudy Giuliani’s son seeks to unseat Gov. Cuomo in 2022 New York election

Giuliani has launched a campaign website that so far only features his bio. Giuliani has been hinting at a run for months, including telling the Washington Examiner, "I think I have the best chance to win and take the state back."

On his experience in the Trump White House, he says that, he joined the Trump administration in 2017 as the Associate Director of the Office of Public Liaison in 2017, and in 2019, he was promoted to Special Assistant to the President.

The junior Giuliani worked with the Treasury Department and Health and Human Services to fight for New York state, ensuring that the 9/11 First Responders Fund was not shorted $3.9 million. Giuliani also spent time on Wall Street before getting into politics.

Before announcing his campaign, Giuliani told the Washington Examiner, "Outside of anybody named Trump, I think I have the best chance to win and take the state back, and I think there's an opportunity in 2022 with a wounded Democratic candidate, whether it's going to be Gov. [Andrew] Cuomo, whether it's going to be a radical [Attorney General] Letitia James, whether it's going to be a no-name lieutenant governor, I think there's a very, very real chance to win."

Gov. Cuomo has announced he will seek re-election in 2022, but he may be vulnerable due to the multiple scandals he is facing. Cuomo is accused of intentionally covering up nursing home COVID-19 deaths by orchestrating a conspiracy to do so. Cuomo has also been accused of sexually harassing at least 12 women on separate occasions. Current NYC Mayor Bill De Blasio and both Senators from New York Chuck Schumer and Kristen Gillibrand.
