A sports radio host based out of DC was fired Saturday after he made a comment about a female TV reporter, calling her "Barbie."
Don Geronimo made the comments about reporter Sharla McBride who was covering the Washington Commanders for local news station WUSA9.

"Hey look, Barbie's here. Hi Barbie girl!" Geronimo shouted at McBride on Thursday. "I'm guessing she's a cheerleader."
The team was quick to denounce the comments from Geronimo.
In a statement to WUSA9, a spokesman from the Commanders said, "We have worked hard to ensure that everyone feels safe and respected in our workplace, and we took swift action when we learned that an employee of our partner iHeart made sexually disparaging remarks to and about a member of the media while she was broadcasting live from training camp yesterday."
"iHeart and the individual were not permitted to broadcast from Training Camp today, and we will continue to work collaboratively with iHeart to address the issue," the spokesman said.
Allegedly, the team president and ownership group were very frustrated over the matter.
As of Friday morning, iHeartMedia was not allowed to cover the Commanders.
WUSA9 reported that McBride found the comments to be "inappropriate, unprofessional and embarrassing" as well as "sexist."
The DC regional president for iHeartMedia, Aaron Hyland, would not say if the broadcasters had been reprimanded for the action. He told WUSA9 that the matter would be taken seriously, as well as internally, within the organization.
“Objectifying women is harmful and disrespectful," said Richard Dyer, the general manager for the organization. “Promoting respect, empathy and equal treatment for all individuals, regardless of gender, is crucial for building respect in any workplace.”
