An attorney working for the Trump campaign has received threats against her and now has had to be placed under official protection.
On Wednesday evening, Linda Kerns, based out of the city of Philadelphia, has been working on the case against the state alleging various instances of corruption, and "has been the subject of threats of harm, to the point at which the involvement of police and US Marshals has been necessary to provide for her safety," according to official documents filed.
According to the New York Post, the incidents were rooted in a heated exchange when a lawyer who was her adversary in a suit against the Pennsylvania Secretary of State left her a rude message on Saturday night.
This was followed by, on Monday, "continuous harassment in the form of abusive emails, phone calls, physical and economic threats, and even accusations of treason—all for representing the President of the United States’ campaign in this litigation."
The harassment was so bad that Kerns has manifested herself as now wanting to quit the case, along with others who have recently done the same, perhaps for similar reasons.
The Pennsylvania firm of Porter, Wright, Morris and Arthur has recently withdrawn from the same case, despite legal advances, due to attacks by the Lincoln Project, an anti-Trump group.
