Dorian Taylor (24) and Evoire Collier (21) went to Florida’s South Beach for spring break. Local 10 says the two men from North Carolina entered the Albion Hotel with a 24-year-old female victim from Pennsylvania, but they left without her. The woman was found half-dressed and dead inside her room back on Thursday.
Both men have been arrested and charged. At the time of writing, authorities are trying to figure out if the woman overdosed on a pill given to her by the suspects.
According to Miami Herald both men are being held in jail until their official trial. Since the two are out of state, prosecutors argued, it presented a real potential that the pair could flee.
“He couldn’t even pick up the phone to call police or 911 after they did whatever it is they did to her,” responded Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Mindy Glazer.
Collier confessed to the police. That he and Dorian Taylor met the girl, gave her a “green pill” they claim they thought was a Percocet, and by the time they all returned to the hotel she was staggering into the elevator, unconscious by the time they made it into her hotel room.
Meanwhile the South Beach area is currently under an 8 PM curfew until April 12th, in order to take back control of what’s become an unruly vacation season.
