WATCH: Spirit Airlines kicks family with pregnant mother off of plane because toddler’s mask wouldn’t stay on
In yet another incident involving young children and masks, Spirit airlines On Feb. 28 kicked a whole family (with a pregnant mother) off of a flight because their 2-year-old couldn’t keep a mask on.
UPDATE: According to video posted by Yossi Gestetner, the couple who were being forced to leave the Spirit Airlines flight were let back onto the plane.
"VIDEO: @SpiritAirlines staffer tells pregnant Mom that her young child needs to put on a mask despite eating or else police will be called. NOTE that the video shows the early moments of this incident, so @SpiritAirlines can’t pull here a he/she said."
The video shows a flight attendant arguing with a family and telling them they have to get off the plane, since her 2-year-old child can't keep a mask on, over the objections of another passenger.
The attendant tells the family that the pilot wants them off, and that police will be called if they don't cooperate. Also, it can be clearly seen in the video that the child is eating.
At the end of the video the man says that he will call his lawyer.
"More of the @SpiritAirlines incident. FYI, following the @FlyFrontier incident a few weeks back, @FAANews sent warning letters to passengers who at the time were not even accused of not wearing masks that they were in violation of the mask rule. Letter can’t even be appealed!"
The second video shows what was happening just prior to the first. The mother is repeatedly trying to get the mask on her child, but it keeps falling off and the child is struggling. The mother tries a pink mask instead of a blue one to no avail.
"Everyone was ordered off @SpiritAirlines following the “incident” with the child. Parents have with them a 7 year old special needs child. @PeteButtigieg should get the FAA to investigate these things rather than the FAA enabling airliners to be abusive."
"Mother also appeared to be pregnant. This was uncalled for, children under 3 can choke on food when their mouth and airway become restricted @SpiritAirlines. Bad call."
"It just sounds like a mess to fly planes right now. Honestly the staff have some perverted power trip which is not surprising especially since they went right for a kid. Weird."
