The White House refused to answer questions in regards to Hunter Biden's criminal trial in Delaware on Wednesday in which the first son plead "not guilty" to alleged tax crimes after a judge rejected his plea deal.
Biden was expected to plead guilty to the two misdemeanor tax charges in exchange for a federal gun charge being dropped but the plea agreement between prosecutors and Hunter Biden's legal team fell apart in court on Wednesday after US District Judge Maryellen Noreika brought up the potential for future FARA charges.

As we have said, the President, the first lady, they love their son, and they support him as he continues to rebuild his life. This case was handled independently, as all of you know, by the Justice Department under the leadership of a prosecutor appointed by the former president, President Trump," Jean-Pierre said.
"So for anything further, as you know, and we've been very consistent from here and referred to the Department of Justice, and to Hunter's representatives, who is his legal team, obviously who can address any of your questions," the White House press sec told reporters.
The White House press secretary's remarks were followed up with questions by the White House press pool seeking information about President Biden's relationship with his son's alleged shady foreign business dealings, and whether or not the president had any involvement. Jean-Pierre declined to address the questions, saying "nothing has changed" in regard to the Biden administration's previous remarks where it claimed President Biden had no involvement.

The proceedings were reportedly put on hold by the judge until the parties settled the dispute.
Biden entered a plea of not guilty pending the approval of a revised plea deal. Judge Noreika has requested written answers to some of the provisions in the new agreement.
The trial remains ongoing.
