California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom California resurfaced in attendance at a wedding ceremony at San Francisco on Saturday, 10 days after his last public appearance.
During his absence, various reports claimed that Newsom experienced an adverse reaction to the Moderna COVID vaccine booster he received October 27 during his last public appearance in Alameda County, after taking the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine in April.
One of the reports claimed that Newsom’s symptoms were similar to those associated with Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) which is a known, but rare, side effect to influenza vaccinations
Newsom’s office issued a statement on October 29 which cited unspecified "family obligations" as the cause for the Governor cancelling his scheduled appearances, including meetings at the COP 26 climate summit in Glasgow, Scotland.
Governor Newsom has repeatedly assured that vaccines are safe. Given the rumors swirling around about the timing of his disappearance (right after getting the booster), I hope he emerges soon to explain his absence, and I hope that’s he’s healthy.

ABC News reported that Newsom planned to participate virtually in the climate conference, yet he did not do so and his name was removed from the schedule.
On Sunday, Newsom’s wife Jennifer tweeted, then quickly deleted, a post urging those speculating on the Governor’s absences to "...stop hating and get a life."

The reports and speculation on Newsom’s health became so widespread that the Governor’s Press Secretary Daniel Lopez addressed them saying, "Last week Governor Newsom worked in the Capitol with staff on urgent issues including COVID-19 vaccines for kids, boosters, ports, the forthcoming state budget and California’s continued economic recovery. He will have public events this week related to the economy and vaccines."
Lopez added that none of Newsom's events were cancelled "...as a result of his booster shot,"
According to KCBS Radio, in a statement on Monday night to the outlet the Newsoms confirmed that they had attended Ivy Getty's wedding ceremony on Saturday, but didn't attend the reception. Getty is the granddaughter of Gordon Getty, the San Francisco billionaire who has contributed to Newsom and many other Democrat politicians.

According to a report by Vogue on Monday which first reported on the wedding, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) officiated the wedding. San Francisco Democrat Mayor London Breed was also in attendance.

Newsom was located by eagle eyed social media pundits in the background of a photo captured by the wedding photographer.
