A man arrested after exposing himself while canvassing for a Pennsylvania Democratic congressional candidate has been identified as an illegal immigrant from Nigeria. He is currently in ICE custody.

Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe was arrested on September 27 in East Pennsboro Township and charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. He pleaded guilty to the disorderly conduct charge and was subsequently taken into ICE custody on October 1.

Igbojekwe was working as a canvasser for Janelle Stelson, a Democrat running in Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District, when he was arrested. He was reportedly found with his pants off and fully exposed in a residential neighborhood near a park where children were present.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed in a press release that Igbojekwe was lawfully admitted to the US in June of 2017. His authorization period expired in November of 2019, and he illegally remained in the US until being granted deferred action by the Biden administration in 2021.

“It’s unbelievable that Janelle Stelson would employ an illegal alien to work on a Congressional campaign, let alone a pervert who exposed himself in public,” said ICE Deputy Director Charles Wall. “Every single day, the men and women of DHS are working hard to target and remove dangerous illegal aliens like this sicko from our communities. The Trump Administration will always put the safety of the American people first.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee also took aim at Stelson in light of the incident.

“Radical lunatic Janelle Stelson oversees her own failing campaign the way she’d like to see the border enforced: zero standards, no accountability, and a welcome mat for illegal creeps. Stelson wants to flood Pennsylvania communities with criminal illegal immigrants because that’s who’s propping up her campaign,” NRCC Spokesman Reilly Richardson said, per the Washington Examiner.

Stelson’s campaign claimed to the outlet that he had not been employed by them. “This is false. This individual is not and has never been employed by the Janelle Stelson campaign. If he is an illegal immigrant who committed a crime he should be deported. We never heard of him prior to the news of his arrest. We are grateful to law enforcement for acting swiftly to arrest him.”
