A report by The Wall Street Journal has found that the Capitol Police officer who fatally shot Ashli Babbitt will not face criminal charges.
Babbitt was among those killed during the insurrection in the Capitol on January 6. Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building in Washington, DC, to attempt and prevent Congress from confirming the election results certifying Joe Biden the next President.
Babbitt, a 35-year-old Air Force veteran from California, was shot in the neck and killed, just outside of the Senate chambers. She was described as a "strong supporter" of former President Donald Trump. WARNING: GRAPHIC VIDEO

The day before she was killed, Babbit tweeted, "Nothing will stop us…. they can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours….dark to light."
Following the riot, the officer who fatally shot Babbitt was put on administrative leave and relieved of official duties while the matter was investigated.
Five people died as a result of the Capitol riots, including one officer.
