Joseph Epstein, an former professor emeritus and lecturer for Northwestern University, had his name scrubbed from Northwestern's website for an op-ed he wrote for the Wall Street Journal concerning Jill Biden's status as a doctor.

The university issued a statement saying that it strongly disagrees with the content of Epstein's op-ed, which questioned Jill Biden referring to herself as a "doctor". "Northwestern is firmly committed to equity, diversity and inclusion, and strongly disagrees with Mr. Epstein’s misogynistic views." a statement from one of the university said.

The statement also noted that Epstein was "never a tenured professor at NU and has not been a lecturer here since 2002."

According to the New York Post, nobody is sure when Epstein's name was taken down from the website, although it was noticed late on Saturday by journalist David Gura.

Epstein's op-ed  was published Friday and harshly scrutinizes the legitimacy of Jill Biden's identification as a "doctor."

"The prestige of honorary doctorates has declined even further. Such degrees were once given exclusively to scholars, statesmen, artist and scientists. Then rich men entered the list,..." the op-ed reads.

Jill Biden holds a doctorate in education.

Epstein also said in the article that he sent a "complaining email" to the university for giving honorary degrees to people he felt didn't deserve them.
