Some waved flags, and young men told reporters that they were of high school age.
There have been a number of arrests made this week stemming from violent crimes around the facility. The Post Millennial's Katie Daviscourt was assaulted by an Antifa-linked militant, and journalist Nick Sortor said that when he was at the facility, a number of people attacked him, and when he defended himself, he was then arrested by Portland Police. The Portland Police is being investigated by the Trump administration after Sortor's arrest.
As the Trump administration has promised to send in the National Guard to Portland as well as send in other federal law enforcement, young, conservative men gathered on Friday to support ICE, as they have been targeted by Antifa.
Some waved flags, and the young men told reporters that they were of high school age. They changed “USA” in support of ICE agents who were there.
The Post Millennial's Andy Ngo, who has reported extensively on the left-wing group which has not been classified as a domestic terror organization, said of the scene, "Wow. Never thought I’d see patriotic chants outside the Portland ICE facility. Normally, Antifa would try to mace or maim people who expressed such views in public in Portland.”
In addition to the patriotic display from the young men, Portland Police arrested two people on Friday night at the ICE facility, according to KOIN. Additionally, federal law enforcement arrested an agitator who crossed the line of the federal property. Around 10 law enforcement agents ran after the agitator, who was then tackled to the ground.
