The Post Millennial’s Katie Daviscourt was assaulted Tuesday night while reporting on violent anti-ICE demonstrations outside Portland’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility, in the latest attack on journalists covering the ongoing unrest.

Daviscourt was filming outside the ICE building when a female activist waving a Palestinian flag deliberately struck her in the face with the flagpole. The blow left Daviscourt with a visible black eye. The attack was captured on video as protesters once again clashed with federal officers during another night of rioting.

A bystander attempted to intervene, trying to wrestle the flag away from the assailant. Independent journalist C.K. Bouferrache, who was nearby, said the same woman had tried to attack her earlier in the evening.

“Katie Daviscourt was just assaulted a short time ago, by a female who’d attempted to assault me earlier,” Bouferrache wrote on X. “We tracked the female for blocks & then waited for police to come arrest her — which of course didn’t happen. We had to walk blocks to find the police. THIS IS A LAWLESS ZONE.”

Even after Daviscourt followed the suspect and flagged down a police officer, the officer failed to act.

A short time later, Daviscourt reported, "The suspect escaped into the Antifa safe house — an apartment unit near the ICE facility that has been harboring Antifa militants involved in the occupation — with the help of her comrades. Portland Police still refuse to make an arrest."

She added, "Portland Police will not be going in to make an arrest. Despite my effort in chasing the suspect down and tracking her. Officers say it’s too unsafe."

In July, Daviscourt reported that Department of Homeland Security agents raided the apartment unit outside the Portland ICE facility and made an arrest, after the person who leases the unit had been allowing Antifa to use it as a staging area.

The Post Millennial said in a statement posted to X, "On Sept 30, 2025, Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt was violently assaulted by a far-left extremist while reporting on the ground in Portland. Katie was targeted simply for doing her job: documenting the reality of what is happening in the city and bringing the truth to the public. This assault is part of a disturbing pattern of harassment, intimidation, and violence carried out by far-left radicals against journalists who refuse to toe their ideological line. Attacks on reporters are attacks on the free press itself, and this should concern all Americans, regardless of political affiliation. Katie has shown tremendous courage in continuing her work despite repeated threats and dangers. We stand firmly with her, and with every journalist committed to reporting the truth in the face of mob violence. We call on local officials, law enforcement, and national leaders to condemn this political violence unequivocally and to take action to ensure that journalists can do their jobs without fear of assault or intimidation. The Post Millennial will not be silenced. We will continue to report the facts, shine a light on extremism, and hold the powerful accountable."

The attack on Daviscourt follows a string of similar incidents targeting reporters at the Portland ICE facility, which has been the site of months of nightly unrest.

On Monday night, independent journalist Nick Shirley was confronted by a masked Antifa member who aggressively advanced on him, shouting, “get the f*ck out of here.” Shirley repeatedly tried to de-escalate, warning that he was being pushed into the road, but the man continued threatening him, saying, “If you come back, I’m gonna f*cking smoke you dude. I’m gonna smash that f*cking camera.”

The escalating hostility toward journalists is occurring against the backdrop of federal investigations and security crackdowns at the site. Earlier this week, the FBI raided a Portland home tied to a suspect accused of pointing a high-powered laser at a Customs and Border Protection helicopter during Saturday’s protest.

Four illegal immigrants were taken into custody during the raid, and the laser was seized as evidence.

Portland’s ICE facility has been under siege since June 7, when Antifa-linked activists launched a round-the-clock occupation. Federal authorities have arrested at least 27 individuals on charges including assault on officers, arson, and property destruction.

Despite the growing violence, local officials have downplayed the crisis, even as journalists are assaulted in public and federal aircraft are targeted.

President Donald Trump has declared Antifa a domestic terrorist organization and deployed 200 National Guard troops to Portland to protect ICE facilities. Clashes between protesters, federal law enforcement, and ICE supporters have escalated in recent days.

Daviscourt, a frequent target of Antifa agitators for her reporting, has documented the Portland unrest extensively. Tuesday night’s attack underscores the increasing dangers faced by journalists covering extremist activity on the ground in Portland, as local law enforcement fails to protect them.
