On Saturday, protesters attending a rally against COVID-19 public health restrictions chanted "shame" at police officers after they ticketed a woman who honked in support of the pro-freedom demonstrators.
In video taken by Western Standard reporter Rachel Emmanuel, it shows cops speaking with the driver of a vehicle after they pulled her over in Calgary.
In the background are chants of protesters screaming "shame" at the officer.
According to Emmanuel, the woman pulled over, who said her name was Rachel, said she received an $81 ticket, which she plans to fight in court.
Protesters gathered outside Calgary City Hall for a demonstration protesting federal COVID-19 restrictions like vaccine mandates.
Emmanuel captured the tense scene between Calgary police officers and protesters who shouted "shame" at law enforcement.
According to CTV, around 500 attended the rally, which featured a march traveling down Stephen Avenue to Harley Hotchkiss Gardens and back to City Hall.
Police reportedly said that one person was arrested on outstanding warrants, while eight traffic summons were issued. Leading into the weekend, Calgary Police announced that a protest injunction remains in affect, and is enforceable by arrest.
The injunction prohibits blocking traffic or sidewalks, conducting activities that "unreasonably" disrupt park use, commercial activity within the park, and honking, which had been heavily featured in the Ottawa trucker convoy protests.
