The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man responsible for shooting and killing of Jennifer Ynoa and her dog.
The organization says it wants to hold the suspect accountable for his actions, and intends to see him face conviction – including for felony cruelty to animals. PETA expressed to The Post Millennial that it hopes the $5,000 reward "may lead to a break in the case."
Ynoa, 36, was out grocery shopping on late Sunday evening when both she and her dog were shot to death at the Salim Smoke Shop bodega in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn.
As reported by The Post Millennial, graphic footage of the shooting showed the victim and her dog standing at the counter when an obese gunman in a grey jogging suit sprinted into the door, opening fire. Police do not believe the victim was the intended target.
"PETA is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction—including for felony cruelty to animals—of the person who shot and killed Jennifer Ynoa and her dog, a brown-and-white pit bull, inside the Salim Smoke Shop near the intersection of Dekalb and Franklin avenues on Sunday night," PETA stated.
"This dog suffered both the agony of being shot alongside his guardian and the helplessness of being unable to protect her, as loyal dogs invariably want to do," said PETA Senior Vice President Colleen O'Brien.
"PETA urges anyone with information to come forward so that their killer can pay the price for this horrific crime," O'Brien added.
